MOOSE has been developed by the Idaho National Laboratory since 2008. Originally created to speed development of nuclear energy related engineering applications it has since been applied to many areas of science and engineering including: material microstructure evolution, chemistry, geomechanics, superconductivity and more.
Over 30 different MOOSE-based applications have been created by teams from all over the world. Below is a schematic showing the relationship of some of the MOOSE-based applications. With MOOSE now being open source software we hope to continue to grow the community of scientists and engineers working together on a common computational platform.
